Diabetes Risk: Weight Training Beneficial for Preventing Type 2 Diabetes
Aerobic exercise is known to help with preventing or reducing the effects of type 2 diabetes, but a recent study shows that weight training is also beneficial in reducing the risk of developing the disease. The study, conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health, determined that participants who combined aerobic training with strength training reduced their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by approximately 60%.
